X-Perience Live at Kranichfeld

all about the X-Perience concert in Krenichfeld on July 12th.

X-Perience continue their German tour with a visit at the Black Lower Castle, the Synthpop Festival in Kranichfeld, which is consolidating its relevance celebrating its third edition with an attractive selection of bands.

All photos in this publication have been taken and provided by our friend and fan of X-Perience, Henning Reuter, who also has a synthpop band that you shouldn’t miss!

X-PERIENCE AT KRANICHFELD - The Location

The open-air amphitheatre in Kranichfeld is a fantastic venue, with the beautiful Niederburg Castle, a 12th century medieval fortress on a spur above the river Ilm, providing the backdrop for a stage with a large tiered seating area to accommodate a large audience and a grass dance floor at the front for fans to dance freely close to their favourite band.

The festival also had a merchandising stand where fans could get new and old records, stickers, postcards, posters and the band’s signatures.

X-PERIENCE AT KRANICHFELD - The Concert

At 6:15, after the performances of Atlas Bird and 80s Express, it was the turn of X-Perience. The stage was filled with the black elegance of Matthias, Lyn and Bernd. Claudia provided the contrast in a striking red coat with a Victorian feel. Then, when the show started, the fans were already on the floor to hear the first notes of A Neverending Dream.

Then, a selection of songs from the fifth and sixth albums, along with this year’s releases, I’ll Remember and To France, were the way X-Perience showed the audience their updated and powerful synthpop sound.

16. I Don’t Care (original 97)

The selection of songs for Kranichfeld, almost the same as for Magdeburg, indicates that after almost a year of concerts, X-Perience has been polishing its tracklist, focusing on its releases since its comeback in 2020.

And even when it came to the big hits, Circles of Love, A Neverending Dream and Magic Fields, they were performed in the new style of the 555 album versions, as was I Don’t Care, whose new version sounded overwhelming. And we hope for a new release soon!

To finish this overview, let’s talk about Mirror, one of the band’s first songs, which has recently returned to the stage and the only song performed in Kranichfeld that still has the original 90’s sound.

More than 25 years old, Mirror still sounds fantastic, but…. don’t you think an updated version of Mirror would be awesome?

Once again we missed Alex on stage. But we have spoken to the band and received good news. His health is improving, he is full of enthusiasm and he is already creating some promotional videos! We send you all our love Alex and hope you are full of energy for the next show in September in Berlin! We love you!

X-PERIENCE AT KRANICHFELD - The other Shows

X-Perience were well accompanied and shared the stage with three other bands, making Friday an unforgettable day, full of music and setting the bar high for the next editions of the Black Lower Castle Festival.

The evening started with Atlas Bird, the duo from Leipzig premiered the festival’s loudspeaker system with their indie rock with a touch of electronica at times but always tinged with intense emotions of the kind that pierce your skin and get into your bloodstream until they reach every corner of your body.

80s Express captained by Nik Page, who is well known to Claudia Uhle fans for his close collaboration on the first Angelzoom album, brought the note of eighties madness, with their covers of hits adapted to their unique dark synthpop style.

Forced to Mode, the Depeche Mode tribute band was also on the Kranichfeld stage, filling the stands with black for the night, the stands with black and demonstrating once again their passion for detail to offer an unparalleled show to the fans of the legendary British band.
