Ingo Politz took piano and drums lessons at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and attended several music schools. In 1983 he graduated in the Hanns Eisler Music Academy. He started in the music business playing as a drummer🥁 in the band Keks, later he would be in other groups like Neumis Rock Circus or Datzu. Since 1989 he has been working as a sound engineer in a studio. Two years later Bernd Wendlandt joined him and they founded Turbobeat.
His works entered the charts since the beginning 💪 with Wiebke Schröder they reached the 70th position in 1992 and with Sandmann’s Dummies they reached the 16th position in 1995. This made our favorite trio seek them out to produce their songs 😋 X-Perience was labeled as a eurodance band, but among their musical influences, there was also that 80’s style from bands like Depeche Mode or Camouflage, something that Ingo and Bernd had known first hand in their own bands 😎 so they knew very well what to do and the success of the single “A Neverending Dream” and the album “Magic Fields” is something we have already talked about.
Turbobeat continued to reap great success with bands like “Bell, Book and Candle” and many more would follow, but that’s another story we’ll expand on another day 😅
Returning to X-Perience, the Politz/Wendlandt duo was also in charge of the production of the second album, however, although they had worked on several songs for the third album, few of their versions were ever released. Only “The Meaning of Life” on the album and “Because the Night” on the single “Am I Right”.
