He was born in 1963 in Berlin. At the age of 20, he studied photography at the Lette-Verein in Berlin, and a year before graduating, in 1984, he began working as a freelance photographer, a career he continues to this day.
Martin took the first photographs of X-Perience with WEA; the covers and interior photos for the first singles (Circles of Love, A Neverending Dream) were taken by Martin somewhere along the River Havel, probably near Jürgenlanke. Martin later took photos that were used for other releases, such as the first album, Magic Fields, and for promotion in various media.
In 2020, for X-Perience’s comeback, Martin travelled to Tenerife with the band to take a host of spectacular photos that would be used for the album 555 and the singles, as well as for promoting the band’s return, concert posters, etc. His raw and intense style transforms reality; rather than simply showing it, he tells the story from his own perspective.
Today he continues to work as a photographer and teaches photography and digital art courses.
