Claudia and Bernd’s project has reached a milestone with the long-awaited release of their third album. And since it’s not every day we get a new album, I invite you to join me in discovering and enjoy it.
Grey Devotion - The culmination of a dream
Just two years after the release of ‘Everyone Cares’ in 2011, the final single from Angelzoom’s second album, a song was quietly released announcing that Angelzoom had begun work on a new album, ‘Gathering Points’.
However, that wasn’t the right time to go ahead with the project, and Angelzoom had to be put on hold.
It was in 2020, with the return of X-Perience, that fans began to wonder whether Angelzoom might also make a comeback; and although Claudia and Bernd were adamant about the challenges involved in a smaller project like Angelzoom, a first song, ‘80’s Forever’, was finally released in 2024.
The fans’ enthusiasm encourages Claudia and Bernd to keep working on more and more songs, to get into a rhythm and establish a routine, and to release singles on a fairly regular basis.
Grey Devotion is the culmination of their hard work over the last two years. It is the fulfilment of a promise they once made to themselves.
Now presented to fans as a complete collection, the Voice of an Angel sings once more for anyone wishing to revisit its dreamlike world, for anyone wishing to join Claudia and Bernd on this journey and hear for themselves the culmination of a dream, a dream come true.

and of course, you can also enjoy it in our music section, where you can listen to the whole album,
But as well as being available for streaming and digital download, Angelzoom has released a CD in a limited edition of 500 copies. So if you want to get your hands on a copy, try the links below as soon as possible!

The cardboard digipack edition is soft to the touch, and it’s fantastic to be able to enjoy this music in Compact Disc quality, which is far superior to most streaming services.
Do you miss having the booklet with the lyrics? Although Angelzoom hasn’t included a booklet with the digipack in order to cut production costs and make this physical release possible, they have created a digital booklet in PDF format because they know we like to have the lyrics to hand whilst listening to the album, don’t we? Well, here’s the link to the booklet!

Is ‘Grey Devotion’ a new journey through Angelzoom’s dream world? Let’s find out by listening to some of their songs; as each video unfolds, we’ll share with you our first impressions of each track
Angelzoom
‘No Second’ opens Angelzoom’s new album with a powerful track that has a distinctly dark tone; if, upon glancing at the tracklist, you found yourself wishing they’d included the traditional Depeche Mode cover, ‘No Second’ will fill that gap perfectly with a hard-hitting sound through which Angelzoom seems to declare with great confidence, “Here I am again.”
The album remains stunning, with a song brimming with a profound and tragic beauty and a melody that feels as though it’s always been stuck in your head.
The duet we missed on the second album, with a touch that takes us back to Angelzoom in 2003 and that track ‘Back in the Moment’, with its gothic sound where, among the melancholy and shadows, some notes emerge that illuminate the emotions of the song
The song that dusted off the name Angelzoom in 2024 appears on the album in an exclusive, extended version, in which the electric guitar takes centre stage to remind us that, although in the current 80s revival everything seems to be about synths, the electric guitar was the undisputed king of that era.
Whilst the first three tracks on the album were the recently released singles, here we finally come to a song that is being released for the very first time with the album’s launch. A song with an epic, overwhelming energy that feels like hoisting a flag on a ship and stirring up the spirit to face the roughest waves with courage.
We’ll skip a few well-known tracks and go straight to another song released alongside the album (released two days before the album). ‘Trap in Time’ is a truly dark track; if ‘Angelzoom’ has been the vehicle for traversing Claudia’s dream world, the unease in every note of ‘Trap in Time’ shows us that ‘Angelzoom’ can also take us through one of those nightmares that make your hair stand on end
Once again, we pass through a couple of familiar tracks to reach the first of the two instrumental tracks that give the album its name. ‘Grey’ surprises with something completely new in Angelzoom’s sound, featuring influences from psytrance and goa, with hard, lively sounds, a heavy beat, and a harmony that uses a scale which breaks away from the usual major (typically cheerful music) and minor modes (typically sad music) to present a Dominant Phrygian D scale! This is very characteristic of traditional Middle Eastern music and Spanish flamenco. A total shock! Wow!
The second instrumental track, which gives the album its title, ‘Devotion’, stands in stark contrast to the previous piece. Here we are brought back to the Angelzoom we know so well, a track more in keeping with Angelzoom’s instrumental style, in which Claudia’s voice and the piano take control of the solemn atmosphere and fill the space, proving that Claudia is still the Voice of an Angel
The album concludes with three ‘Ambient’ tracks, which are closer to the classic Angelzoom sound. This version of Infinitive Energy, brimming with positivity and optimism, is like a wave of hope; if this album had been telling us of a journey to the promised land, with these end credits we have undoubtedly reached the point where we can already see it before our eyes. A lovely way to end an album, leaving us with the feeling of having been on an adventure-filled journey alongside Claudia, and eager to repeat the journey of Grey Devotion as soon as possible.
